Counseling Services
Client Support & Counseling
- Provide individual, group, and/or family counseling sessions.
- Conduct needs assessments to identify client challenges, goals, and appropriate interventions.
- Offer crisis intervention and emotional support for clients experiencing trauma, housing instability, abuse, addiction, or mental-health challenges.
- Develop individualized treatment or service plans tailored to client needs.
- Facilitate workshops or support groups depending on organizational focus (e.g., mental health, domestic violence, youth development).
- Monitor client progress and adjust plans as needed
Intake, Screening & Assessment
- Conduct initial intake interviews to gather background, risk factors, psychosocial information, and service needs.
- Screen for mental-health concerns, substance use, trauma, and safety issues.
- Identify eligibility for specific programs or referrals.
Case Management & Advocacy
- Connect clients with community resources: housing, employment, healthcare, food assistance, legal support, etc.
- Coordinate services with partner agencies and internal departments.
- Advocate for clients’ rights, access, and well-being within systems such as schools, court systems, shelters, or healthcare organizations.
- Provide follow-up support to ensure continuity of care.
Documentation & Reporting
- Maintain accurate, confidential client records in accordance with HIPAA and organizational policies.
- Document session notes, treatment plans, and progress reports.
- Track outcomes and prepare reports for grants, audits, or program compliance.
- Assist in program evaluation and improvement based on client outcomes.
Collaboration & Teamwork
- Work closely with case managers, social workers, volunteers, and program directors.
- Participate in multidisciplinary meetings and contribute to coordinated care strategies.
- Attend staff meetings, trainings, and professional development sessions.
Ethical & Professional Practice
- Uphold ethical standards related to confidentiality, boundaries, cultural sensitivity, and informed consent.
- Apply trauma-informed, client-centered, and strengths-based practices.
- Maintain required certifications or licenses and stay updated on best practices.
- Adhere to the mission and values of the non-profit organization.
